Thinking Tuesdays

March 16, 2021 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

“‘Jewish Standard Time?’ The Jewish Calendar.”

We’ll talk about the multicultural origins of the Jewish calendar and timekeeping (clocks need not apply!), look at exactly how each year in the Jewish calendar is set up, and talk about why the current Jewish year is numbered at 5781. Next week, we’ll start on a journey through the Jewish calendar to learn about the origins and modern meanings of the (many more in number than you might think!) Jewish holidays.

Visit Machar’s YouTube channel to see what we’ve done before under this program’s original name, Texts on Tuesday.
Please contact Rabbi Jeremy at rabbi@machar.org for meeting link and access information.
