Texts on Tuesday

December 8, 2020 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

In advance of the holiday, we’ll wrap up our look at texts related to Hanukkah, with two focuses: we’ll spend time looking at what changes were made to life in the synagogue during Hanukkah, and we’ll at how Hanukkah shaped early Zionist literature, in particular how imagery about Hanukkah and the Maccabees appears in the work of the poet Hayim Nahman Bialik. (Bialik is often viewed as Israel’s national poet.)

You can view previous sessions HERE.

Please contact Rabbi Jeremy at Macharjeremy@gmail.com or rabbi@machar.org for program link and access information.
