Serving Brunch at Shepherd’s Table with Beth Chai

Machar and Beth Chai have reserved the FOURTH Saturday of every month for Machar and Beth Chai Congregations to serve brunch. The activities will consist of setting up, serving meals, and cleaning up (no cooking is needed). Students will be able to get SSL hours for the time they volunteer when they bring their form. COVID safety:
o All volunteers must use a mask and attest to being vaccinated against COVID-19. Adults will do this when they register. Volunteers under 18 years old will need to bring a copy of the attestation signed by an adult.
o Please do NOT volunteer if you are not feeling well, have a temperature over 100.4 F or are experiencing any symptoms associated with COVID-19.
o When Arriving: We will take your temperature with a scanning thermometer. If your temperature is over 100.4 F, you will not be permitted to volunteer.
o Dress Code: Closed toed shoes, no sleeveless shirts, and bottoms to the knees or longer.
o Location: Progress Place, 8106 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring MD 20910 (behind the fire station)
o Event Time: Brunch event is 9:00am until noon. Please allow enough time to find parking and check in so that you will be ready to work at the start of the event.
o Use the sink near the computer in the kitchen to wash your hands thoroughly. Then sign in at the computer and wash your hands AGAIN.
o Age Requirement: Volunteers must be 13 years old to volunteer. 13-15 year olds need a chaperone to volunteer with them and over 16 may volunteer on their own.
o Photography: Please keep in mind that no photos can be taken of clients or while serving. You may only take photos before or after service, and you must ask permission to take photos of other volunteers.
