Adult Ed. Topic: “What’s Ahead for American Labor Activism?” with Michael Podhorzer

A senior strategist for AFL-CIO, Mike Podhorzer will share insights into what lies ahead for the resurgent
American labor movement. Amazon, Starbucks, UPS, and the auto industry – with a tight labor market,
are American workers finally ready to take the fight for fair wages, workplace safety, and other justice
issues to corporate HQs? Assistant to the AFL-CIO's president for strategic research, Mike is the lead
architect of the strategy to expand labor’s political reach to all of America’s working families, whether or
not they are covered by collective bargaining agreements. Podhorzer was recognized as an early leader
in data driven politics in The Victory Lab. He is the co-chair of Catalist, founding chair of the Analyst
Institute, and serves on the boards of America Votes and the Committee on States.
