*PLEASE NOTE:  Due to the surge in COVID-19 cases related to the Omicron variant, we are regularly evaluating (and re-evaluating) holding indoor events while case counts remain so high. We are currently planning on holding JCS in-person, and providing an Adult Ed viewing option for those present, at Milton Gottesman Jewish Day School (MGJDS) on Sunday, January 23, 2022. We will notify everyone here, and our members, teachers, & students will also be notified via email, should any changes occur.
If we do meet at MGJDS, please also note that the only access to the building is through the main doors located at the back side of the building where the parking lot is located.  Due to enhanced security measures, everyone must use the buzzer at the gate for entrance and identify yourself as a Machar member.  This is for admittance by car or on foot. The 16th street doors are for emergency access only.  Parking is available in the parking lot and in the neighborhood.

Amos Gil – Recent Developments in Israel/Palestine and Why It Matters

Capital/South Regional Director for J Street Amos Gil will share recent developments on US
policies and diplomacy regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He will discuss J Street’s
work on behalf of the pro-Israel, pro-peace movement, and related views of American Jews.
Amos has worked for many years on human rights and peace-building in Israel, including
as CEO of the Jerusalem International YMCA and Founding Executive Director of Ir-Amim,
which specializes in Jerusalem’s unique place in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

You may notice on the registration page that the Zoom meeting is scheduled to begin at 9:30am. This is so that the hosts and speakers can get on Zoom, sort out any glitches, and settle in before the presentation begins at 10am. The Adult Ed session itself officially begins at 10am and runs until 11:30am.
