Neighborhood Havurot provide opportunities for Machar members to gather and socialize on an informal basis. The Hebrew word "havurah" (plural "havurot") translates roughly as "fellowship" and can include a variety of activities. Members have enjoyed Shabbat and Havdalah potluck dinners, restaurant outings, games nights, Sunday brunches, a pool party, and an afternoon BBQ.
Some events are targeted to members within a particular metro area, hence the "neighborhood" aspect of this committee. Recent events have focused less on geography and more on common interests.
Consider opening your home for a social gathering of Machar members. Whether you want to propose a meal, a games night, or something we have never tried before, we can help you to organize and publicize the event. Contact info@machar.org with your ideas.
