Machar celebrates Passover each year with a community Seder that is truly communal. A large crowd takes part, and everyone pitches in to take care of one task or another, from shopping beforehand for ritual foods, to preparing seder plates, to serving, and finally to clean-up. Families come, sometimes with additional relatives and friends. Our Senior Havurah and our Young Adults Group each have their own tables. Children from our Sunday school sing The Four Questions with Rabbi Ben, and race to find the Afikomen or hidden pieces of matso, and the food is magnificent -- because we all bring it.
