Machar: the Washington Congregation for Secular Humanistic Judaism

A havurah is a friendship group. Machar draws members from a wide area of Maryland, Northern Virginia, and the District, so members like to get together informally with one another in their local areas for a potluck meal and plenty of fellowship. We are developing a number of friendship groups, or  havurot. Some are neighborhood based. Others are age-related. Still others are topic-related. All bring members together to share ideas and celebrate our Secular Humanistic Jewish identities.
